No, that's not how it works.
Anyhow, Giganews confirmed to me that their overview.fmt database
contains only these headers:
Subject
From
Date
Message-ID
References
Bytes
Lines
Xref:full
> OK OK, maybe its just me. I'll go rant in a corner for a bit.
I highly suggest you switch to Supernews! I did and never looked back!

Gosh is that really that important? What binaries are worth downloading
on Usenet anyway? Porn?

Filtering on Newsgroups: *used to* work with Giganews. Amusingly they
stopped supporting it literally the day that I upgraded my copy of MTNW
and I was quite vexed that the new version didn't support one of my
filters and then perplexed when rolling back didn't get it working again. >> Stay informed about: MTNW filters |

I'm on Supernews so no worries, but wouldn't Filters->Create
Filter->Matching & Action->"Kill if Xref contains the word advocacy" do
the job for him? My quick google for Xref:full was um... unfulfilling.

Well, yes, to be honest. Having never really looked, I have no idea
what's out there besides pirated software and porn.

Been watching the newsgroups for awhile now and most everything comes
around more than once it seems. Besides, 40 days is plenty of time to
download stuff. If you can't get it down by then, it will just keep
backing up until you will never get caught up!
Using MTNW with Supernews and having no problems. Now, if I can just get
those PARs and RARs figured out!
