I ported to a G5 in October and Mail seemed to work fine. In the last
month for no apparent reason the spam filtering stopped working. I
checked the preferences but couldn't get it to work. Finally, I made a
new account and re-entered my comcast account settings. Ran on training
for a while and then turned on regular spam filtering. Again, it
doesn't filter. Am I overlooking something obvious? If not, what
preference file should I trash to try to fix this? Running OS10.3.2

thanks

On [1] you find some problems and solutions.

I read that you should have at least one personal filter active
that Mail.app filters junk mail. That's probably why Apple ships
Mail.app with a rule to mark Apple's mails.

I already tried that and have a rule (if any of the following conditions
are met) "message is junk mail" with instructions to move to junk
mailbox. Very strange that it doesn't work. I assume some preference
file must be screwed up?

thanks

That is the normal junk mail rule. But I assume you should have
another rule.

And that some prefs are screwed up can also be possible.
