Post subject: Viewing a website on a Mac
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>macintosh>general (more info?)

Hi,

I have a client with IE 5.1 on his Mac, when he views the following
website, http://www.racersdepots.com/DesktopDefault.aspx , and clicks on the
first menu item on the left hand side, Adjustable Timing Pointers, the sub
menu displays on top of the second main menu item, Billet Throttle Linkages.
Can someone else with a similar Mac setup please confirm with me if they are
experiencing the same problem (or is it locally related to my client) and if
they know what the resolution might be.

Your assistance is appreciated......thanks,

Ed.

Hi Ed,

Since IE is no longer being developed on either Mac or Windows your
correspondent may wish to try a different browser.

The problem you described does not happen in FireFox

I'm on MS IE 5.1.7 and Mac OS 9.2.2. The submenu displays wherever you set
the pointer, at the finger of the little hand icon. If you place it at the
extreme left-hand side, the submenu covers the links under it; if you click
on the extreme right-hand side of the link, then the submenu drops right at
that point. For any given point on the link, the finger pointer dictates
where the left edge of the submenu begins.

Hi, I'm running both IE 5.1.7 and iCab on my 9.2.2 mac and although IE
couldn't open the link properly, same overlapping as you described, iCab did
with no problems. It also seemed more agile than IE in doing it.
